Thanks to everyone for a successful Obon festival!
Our Obon festival is like a duck swimming on a pond....everyone sees the duck gracefully gliding across the pond, not realizing how quickly the duck is padding under the surface of the water. Thank you all! Our Obon was the gliding duck, and you all were the paddling legs, behind the scenes making everything look flawless. It took months of planning and weeks of preparation for this annual event. But for our temple's sake, it was worth it. There were many visitors who had never been to our temple and many had lots of great things to say!
So "Thank YOU" to everyone, for selling raffle tickets, for posting up flyers, telling your friends to come, for dancing and for all the time you put into this event. Okagesama de!
If you took photos, please send them to me.

Foods of Obon
Here's a sample of the foods we offered this year. In addition, there was chili rice, spam musubi and grilled corn. We even got a write-up in "L.A. Weekly".
