Sumirei-Kai .... a social group of crafty folks
About 15-years ago a group of women got together to craft items that would be donated to Keiro and to the Pasadena Nikkei Seniors for the lunches we would sponsor here at the Temple. The focus moved from individual crafts, sashiko, bags, happi coats to sell at Obon....to the group working on quilts that could be auctioned at Obon. It was not just about crafting, it was also a time to socialize with others, share a meal (everyone brought something home cooked) and have lots of lively conversation. Suggested donation is $5/visit.
